It is with a heavy heart that I have to tell you that my husband of 20 years, has decided to leave. It has been a struggle for him, unknown to me, for some time now. All I can do is offer him support and understanding. I don't know what may lay in store for us, but one thing I do know.. We will always be friends.
This is why I haven't offered any classes lately, as I've had to focus my energy on my family. Once I get settled in, I will resume all classes and try to get life as close to nor... Continue reading ...

'Tis the season.. but where's the snow?
Posted by Linda Morley on Sunday, November 27, 2011,
With December right around the corner, I peek out the window in hopes of seeing swirling snow dancing on my porch.. alas.. all I see is the green, green grass of home! We have had one snowfall mixed with freezing rain, which wasn't fun, but welcomed (by myself, anyway..)
I must admit, the weather has been great for stringing Christmas lights.. so now that we're all done.. we are ready for our crazy Canadian winter!
In case you haven't heard.. one of my designs will be featured in the Feb 201... Continue reading ...

Summer is on its way out and fall is creeping in! This is my favourite time of year, where I am at my most creative level! There are many witches, crows, snowmen and Santas sitting around my painting studio! They're having a grand ol' chat!
I have posted the details to the Gananoque Arts & Craft fair that is coming up! I hope to see many of you there! We have all worked long hours to prepare our goodies for you!
Need to get back to my brushes!
Wishing you and your family a very Happy Thanksg... Continue reading ...

So here we are.. end of July and my studio looks like.. "T'was the Night Before Christmas!" I'm a busy little Elf lately, painting all that glitters!! November will be here before I know it, and I need to be ready with all sorts of goodies! I will have some new summer paintings, Hallowe'en and of course, PLENTY of Christmas paintings!! Spring has sprung.. and I mean it this time!
Posted by Linda Morley on Saturday, April 30, 2011,
After a very cold, wet April.. we finally get a day of sun and warmth, which means... that I will sacrifice my painting to catch up on some much needed vitamin D!
It's been busy around here! I managed to get three painted projects done for our painting classes.. (this should keep me out of trouble for a while!) The ladies are still very happy to come to class and the more classes we have, the better we get to know each other and the more laughs we have! I love painting class time! =) They ar... So rumour has it that spring has sprung! Well.. the winter gear is still hanging in the hall closet, ready to go.. so I'm not digging out my peep toe sandals just yet!!
I would like to thank everyone who came out the Taylor Allan fundraiser last weekend! It was a lot of fun and many people got a lot of great deals! We won a wonderful trail ride out at the Eastern Cowboy farm! Hannah sure is looking forward to that!
The painting lessons are going along swimmingly! =) We have a lady coming out... Continue reading ...
Charity Event - March 19th
Posted by Linda Morley on Monday, February 21, 2011,
I have posted a link on my home page, directing you to a page for a charity event, in memory of Taylor Allan who died suddently at the age of 16, when she collapsed at a friend's home on April 26, 2008 of ARVC (Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardio-Myopathy). ARVC is one of the "silent killers" most often responsible for sudden death in otherwise healthy kids.
I will be painting a piece for the silent auction and I hope to see you there. There will be live concerts from 1pm to 1am, enterta... Continue reading ...

Another new year upon us.. what shall it bring? With positive thoughts, energy and hard work, it can bring whatever your heart's desire.
Battling a cold as I enter the new year, I think about what is in store for my family.. for me.. We brought in the new year with my husband's brother and his wife, which I hope means that we will see a lot more of them throughout the year! I especially loved being in their beautiful home, downtown, overlooking the city and the water. The view truly was incr... Continue reading ...

Get the fire going, grab my wine glass and settle in for a long winter's evening!
I'm off work all of next week and I plan on getting a lot of painting done! The January painting lessons will commence and I have to be ready for the ladies!! I promised them fun and excitin... Continue reading ...
Jingle!! Jingle!!

Well now that Halloween is past, we can look forward to Christmas!! We've already had beautiful snow flakes on All Hallow's Eve and I was torn between one sad child who had Halloween plans and one happy child who was in the Christmas spirit! My emotions were running all over the place! "Oh! I'm so sad for you..".. but wait.. "Oh! I'm so happy for you!!" =)
Judy and I have decided to forgo the Open House (I'm sorry to let you know) but we thought that it would be a great idea to wait and part... Continue reading ...
Welcome the Howling Season!!
Posted by Linda Morley on Wednesday, September 15, 2010,
With Halloween fast approaching, I find myself welcoming the cool, crisp air and every now and then, I catch myself looking upwards in hopes of catching a glimpse of orange or red. The bright fall colours on the trees set against the bright blue of the sky is so very inspiring to me. This is the time where I want to replace my traditional glass of wine for a warm glass of apple cider (with spices o'course!) and allow myself to be wrapped in the magic of the season...
'Tis also the season for... Continue reading ...
Mission Accomplished!

As I sit, waiting for Leslie to come by and pick up her painted dresser.. I contemplate.. would I do it again? I hadn't anticipated the amount of work to actually re-finish an antique piece. I learned along the way and have to admit that I enjoy any type of work along those lines, so yes.. that was fun. I welcomed the challenge in designing the dresser front and am happy with the end results.. so YES!!! I would definitely do it again, in a heart beat! =) Leslie mentioned to me that she ha... I'm back!!

The final coat of paint went on the walls late last week! This means I can finally get down there to get some work done. The timing was good though, it allowed me to get the "outside" work on the dresser done and now I'm ready for the "inside" work.
The basement is looking very nice (see pictures on my Home page) but it still needs a lot of work. We need to put the flooring in, get new lighting, window treatments and new furniture. But as I said, I'm holding out for the free tv deal! =) ... Continue reading ...

I've started a new page on my website, called Projects in the Works.. And have updated it with new photos and information on Leslie's Dresser! You will find out "who" exactly IS Leslie! =) As well as how we came about!
I've been working hard on the dresser and am happy with my end results, so far. I'm in the midst of sketching the desings to larger scale for the dresser, and next weekend, will start the painting. (That's IF I can get the basement cleaned up to a satisfactory level!!) I b... Continue reading ...
A week away from the office... Can you say.. Ahhhhh!
Posted by Linda Morley on Tuesday, May 4, 2010,
I finally got a week off from work, and let me tell you.. it seems like forever since I've had one! I started my week off by travelling to Cornwall to visit with a very dear friend of mine (I'd say old friend, but I know she wouldn't like that!) =) We did our usual, which was eat, laugh, drink, laugh, shop and watch some movies to laugh some more! (Not necessarily in that order..) The weekend zipped by without either one of us noticing! I think there was something wrong with the clocks ov... Continue reading ...

Okay.. this weekend (well tomorrow anyway) is a non-paint oriented day.. (Okay.. I know that I've had a lot of those lately and I'm truly sorry.. but although I haven't been painting.. I've been creating!) But tomorrow, early squirrely we're off to Toronto to meet (I hope!) two cast members of my beloved Coronation Street!!! For those you who know and like the show.. it's Becky and Sean who will be there. For those of you who don't know and don't care.. sorry for having to put up with me! =)... Continue reading ...

I've been diligently working (time permitting) on a variety of designs that I want to offer as Pattern Packets. I have almost completed my first one and hope to have it done by next weekend. I have several others waiting to go.. two more spring/summer and several winter ones! (My fave!) I want to get them all out as quickly as I can. =)
I have been asked to paint a dresser to be given as a wedding gift, this summer. I have been given an idea of what style the bride-to-be likes, and will be... Continue reading ...

It's a beautiful day in the neighbourhood!! I have painted some very sweet planting pots, perfect size for small annuals. I will be adding a variety of designs, something for everyone!! I've been waiting for today to take some lovely photos to post. The sun is shinning brightly and the pots are totally at home basking in the light! I will also be posting some photos on Facebook, so be sure to check it out.

Here we are, starting a new decade. Wow.. where DOES the time go?? Seems like yesterday both my babies were born and my first one is going off to university this fall, and my little one is going into grade 9. Let us not forget Oliver, who will be 3 in the spring.
I've attempted to start a profile page on Facebook, in hopes that I will be able to update you better when something new is posted on my website. We'll try it out.. see out it goes.. Those of you who know me, know I'm not a Facebo... Continue reading ...

Christmas is around the proverbial corner and I hope you are all ready for Santa!! The smell of sugar cookies baking.. turkey roasting.. does it get any better than that?!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your support during this "build up" time! Your words of encouragement and emails are what keeps me going. Please keep checking Oliver's Look Out, as I try to add new things here and there, now and then!

Ahhh the hustle and bustle!
Posted by Linda Morley on Monday, November 23, 2009,
I really love this time of year! You hear many people complaining that the crowds are getting to busy at the mall and that people seem to be impatient. I don't mind the crowds at all and as for the impatient aspect?.. I just smile and move on by! I think that if Christmas shopping makes you grumpy, then by all means.. why do it?!! I don't get it. There are so many things wrong with our world, and this is the one time of year that is joyous and giving. It doesn't matter why you celebrate... Continue reading ...

I haven't had much time to blog and noticed that it's been since Thanksgiving that I wrote! Where does the time go?? Halloween has come and gone but not without a good howwwling time! It's time to think about Christmas but those of you who know me well, know that I think about Christmas all year round!
I spent a couple of hours on the phone with my good friend Judy a few weekend ago. We've made plans to host an Open House (at her house in Gananoque). But.... we can't have it until next fa... Continue reading ...
Happy Thanksgiving!!
Posted by Linda Morley on Friday, October 9, 2009,
I wanted to wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend and I hope that you get to relax and unwind. We usually have a house full at Thanksgiving, but this year seems to be on the quiet side. Everyone is busy with their own projects, time is hard to find and when you get one extra day off, you tend to jam pack it full of "to do" things. One thing I need to do this weekend is to bring out my fall and winter clothing! I'm still wearing my tee's and sandals and it's a tad nippy in the morni... Continue reading ...
Sigh of relief..

So I managed to put this site together in a couple of days... I had to get one up fairly quickly, which is why it still needs work.. I went from ordering business cards that will have the Yolasite.com website on them, only to have upgraded today to buy the Oliver's Look Out domain! But they ensure me that even if you go to the Yolasite.com address, you will find me. =) Next step is the Guestbook, as you will see, it's a little "busy" to say the least, and I don't really like that you have ... My struggle..

As I sit here.. trying to figure out how to put this site together.. struggling, really.. My daughter is in the kitchen entertaining her friends with a game of Risk. My husband enters the office, smiles at my obvious frustration.. and tells me that there is a bunch of "brainiacs" in the other room that can put this together for me in 13 seconds! And he's right.. these kids are amazing. But I want to do this alone, and feel good about my accomplishments.. however long it may take.. Stay tun... Continue reading ...
