Well now that Halloween is past, we can look forward to Christmas!! We've already had beautiful snow flakes on All Hallow's Eve and I was torn between one sad child who had Halloween plans and one happy child who was in the Christmas spirit! My emotions were running all over the place! "Oh! I'm so sad for you..".. but wait.. "Oh! I'm so happy for you!!" =)
Judy and I have decided to forgo the Open House (I'm sorry to let you know) but we thought that it would be a great idea to wait and partake in the Gananoque Christmas Craft fair next year. I do have many items here that I will offer for sale and will try to get them on the website for your consideration.
I've had a difficult time getting drawer pulls for the Rotary Auction dresser but I believe they are at the post, waiting for me!! I got the notice today and if that's what's patiently waiting for me.. I will post pictures this weekend. Once I get the Auction details, I will be posting them on my Home page for your viewing.
I am now offering painting classes and am happy to report that the ladies are loving it!! Two of the ladies are away South until the spring, but they promised that they would paint, paint, paint while there! So the local ladies and I will try to keep up with them and then we can all get together in the Spring and do a workshop together. I am sooo looking forward to that!!
I hear my bed calling me.. it's been a very long week so grab your tea and take a tour at all the new things going on at Oliver's Look Out! Happy Weekend!! =)

With Halloween fast approaching, I find myself welcoming the cool, crisp air and every now and then, I catch myself looking upwards in hopes of catching a glimpse of orange or red. The bright fall colours on the trees set against the bright blue of the sky is so very inspiring to me. This is the time where I want to replace my traditional glass of wine for a warm glass of apple cider (with spices o'course!) and allow myself to be wrapped in the magic of the season...
'Tis also the season for... Continue reading...

As I sit, waiting for Leslie to come by and pick up her painted dresser.. I contemplate.. would I do it again? I hadn't anticipated the amount of work to actually re-finish an antique piece. I learned along the way and have to admit that I enjoy any type of work along those lines, so yes.. that was fun. I welcomed the challenge in designing the dresser front and am happy with the end results.. so YES!!! I would definitely do it again, in a heart beat! =) Leslie mentioned to me that she ha... The final coat of paint went on the walls late last week! This means I can finally get down there to get some work done. The timing was good though, it allowed me to get the "outside" work on the dresser done and now I'm ready for the "inside" work.
The basement is looking very nice (see pictures on my Home page) but it still needs a lot of work. We need to put the flooring in, get new lighting, window treatments and new furniture. But as I said, I'm holding out for the free tv deal! =) ... Continue reading...

I've started a new page on my website, called Projects in the Works.. And have updated it with new photos and information on Leslie's Dresser! You will find out "who" exactly IS Leslie! =) As well as how we came about!
I've been working hard on the dresser and am happy with my end results, so far. I'm in the midst of sketching the desings to larger scale for the dresser, and next weekend, will start the painting. (That's IF I can get the basement cleaned up to a satisfactory level!!) I b... Continue reading...

I finally got a week off from work, and let me tell you.. it seems like forever since I've had one! I started my week off by travelling to Cornwall to visit with a very dear friend of mine (I'd say old friend, but I know she wouldn't like that!) =) We did our usual, which was eat, laugh, drink, laugh, shop and watch some movies to laugh some more! (Not necessarily in that order..) The weekend zipped by without either one of us noticing! I think there was something wrong with the clocks ov... Continue reading...

Okay.. this weekend (well tomorrow anyway) is a non-paint oriented day.. (Okay.. I know that I've had a lot of those lately and I'm truly sorry.. but although I haven't been painting.. I've been creating!) But tomorrow, early squirrely we're off to Toronto to meet (I hope!) two cast members of my beloved Coronation Street!!! For those you who know and like the show.. it's Becky and Sean who will be there. For those of you who don't know and don't care.. sorry for having to put up with me! =)... Continue reading...

I've been diligently working (time permitting) on a variety of designs that I want to offer as Pattern Packets. I have almost completed my first one and hope to have it done by next weekend. I have several others waiting to go.. two more spring/summer and several winter ones! (My fave!) I want to get them all out as quickly as I can. =)
I have been asked to paint a dresser to be given as a wedding gift, this summer. I have been given an idea of what style the bride-to-be likes, and will be... Continue reading...

It's a beautiful day in the neighbourhood!! I have painted some very sweet planting pots, perfect size for small annuals. I will be adding a variety of designs, something for everyone!! I've been waiting for today to take some lovely photos to post. The sun is shinning brightly and the pots are totally at home basking in the light! I will also be posting some photos on Facebook, so be sure to check it out.

Here we are, starting a new decade. Wow.. where DOES the time go?? Seems like yesterday both my babies were born and my first one is going off to university this fall, and my little one is going into grade 9. Let us not forget Oliver, who will be 3 in the spring.
I've attempted to start a profile page on Facebook, in hopes that I will be able to update you better when something new is posted on my website. We'll try it out.. see out it goes.. Those of you who know me, know I'm not a Facebo... Continue reading...
